IED kills hospitalman near Fallujah

A sailor serving as a hospital corpsman with II Marine Expeditionary Force died in the explosion of an improvised explosive device during combat operations April 23 near Fallujah, Iraq.

Hospitalman Aaron A. Kent, 28, had been assigned to 2nd Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, N.C., since January 2003.

A former resident of Portland, Ore., Kent joined the Navy in February 2002.

Following boot camp and hospital corpsman “A” school, he completed Field Medical Service School at Camp Lejeune in December 2002.
